Grief and Loss:

I worked at Hospice Calgary with children, youth and teens who had experienced the death of a loved one following a suicide, homicide, illness, or sudden death. I realized the topic of 'death' wasn't very comfortable for many people which in the long run created more difficulties for my young clients. Offering an open, safe, grieving space allowed my clients to reminisce about the deceased without fear of hurting others, express their anger and pain while feeling safe and secure.

I offer a number of different hands on strategies to meet each client where they are at in their grief and their developmental age. will provide a space to:

  • remember and connect with the deceased

  • process painful emotions

  • increase their understanding of the reality of the death

  • improve emotion regulation all while being held compassionately through grief

  • improve/increase communication

Depression, Anxiety, Identity, Self-Worth

I believe the most vulnerable population I work with is children, youth and teens. Our world of social media mixed with regular stressors or being a kid can and will influence the development of mental health issues along with identity confusion, self-worth and emotion regulation when a child does not have healthy supports and outlets.

Therapy can offer hands on and experiential tools to regulate the nervous system and shift irrational beliefs of self as well and process and heal from any attachment ruptures that have occurred.

When I work with children, youth and teens I will also work with the parents. Parents must be as motivated and open minded as their child to grow, progress and change with their child’s best interest in mind.
